NEWS: 4th Eagle’s 33 Peak Bagging FKT Attempt

Update: On Sun, Sep 6, 2020, I finally finished up my entire Eagle’s 33 Challenge route in 104h 42min (4d 8h 42min) and was able to bag all 33 peaks this time. Now I need some rest. Stay tuned for a detailed report and movie in the near or far future.
The 3rd Eagle’s 33 Challenge attempt ended in yet another failure: it took me a whopping 110h 17min (4d 14h 17min) to bag 32 peaks. I had only packed food that I could stretch for about 100h. A huge calories deficit ensued. And worse, I did fail to summit Needle Point, the very last peak in my route. Needle(ss) to say that this was a total downer at 9,000ft.

For a totally inexplicable reason, I’m now going back for a 4th attempt with a new strategy and a new route. Also, with more food.

The Eagle’s 33 Challenge consists of summiting all 33 peaks over 9,000ft (2743m) with at least 300ft (91m) of prominence in Oregon’s Eagle Cap Wilderness (aka Wallowa Mountains) in a single push.
